UNFI Service Disrupted

6/18/2025 Update
As of yesterday, Tuesday, June 17th UNFI deliveries started to arrive as regularly scheduled. While there are still some out-of-stocks of particular items, we anticipate future orders to continue to arrive as expected and out-of-stocks to fill-in as UNFI brings their ordering system fully back online. Some special orders are still temporarily delayed.

6/12/2025 Update
We received a small grocery delivery from UNFI yesterday, June 11th, and we received a meat order from Tony's Fine Foods today, June 12th. We are scheduled to receive another delivery from UNFI tomorrow, Friday, June 13th that should replenish many cooler and grocery items, but we are uncertain what time it will arrive. An additional grocery delivery from KeHe, a separate distributor, is scheduled to arrive on Saturday, June 14th, and another meat order from Tony's should arrive on Monday, June 16th as normally scheduled.

Some special orders may be affected – buyers will follow up regarding order fulfillment. If you have a pending order and have not heard from us, please call the store and ask to speak to the department buyer.

We want to thank all of our local and regional vendors for helping us keep the store stocked! Produce deliveries have not been affected and the produce department is stocked, full, and beautiful as always.

6/9/25
At the end of last week, UNFI, our largest distributor and the largest natural foods distributor in the U.S., was hit by a cyberattack which caused them to take their ordering and fulfillment systems offline nationwide on Friday. Weekend delivery trucks were cancelled.

As of this morning, Monday, June 9th, it is unclear when we will get our next UNFI truck. UNFI anticipates disruptions to service at least until Sunday, June 15th, before they are able to fully return to business as usual.

Our main focus right now is to keep the store stocked as best as possible. To address this situation, we are actively:

  • Increasing orders from other distributors and leaning on our local suppliers to help keep shelves stocked like we did during the pandemic

  • Sourcing existing UNFI products from other distributors

  • NCG has arranged top selling items to go out to all Co-ops - we do expect a delivery on Tuesday of these items

  • Creating communications so customers can be aware of the situation

We are grateful for our buyers and managers who are working diligently to minimize disruption to our customers.

UNFI does expect there to be lingering order fulfillment problems over the coming weeks as they refill their warehouses and get everything back up and running.

Please note: if you are expecting a special order, your order is likely to be affected by this situation. We are doing our best to contact customers with pending orders. Please contact us if you are expecting an order and do not receive direct communication from a staff member this week.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work through this disruption!
