The SO Health-E LGBTQ+ Equity Workgroup is a community-led, cross-sector committee focused on promoting health equity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer+ (LGBTQ+) communities. They're focused on building community with, and creating visibility for, the many diverse LGBTQ+ people and families who live and work in Jackson and Josephine Counties. Health equity means that we all have equal opportunity to live healthy and fulfilling lives, that we are able to reach our full potential, and that barriers based on race, gender/sexuality, income, disability, etc. are removed. This workgroup planned and implemented the Southern Oregon 2019 LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Summit, hosted a 2020 Lecture Series, and is the host of the annual Medford Pride events.
