Round up to help the Medford Food Project fight hunger in our community!
The Medford Food Project's mission is to provide a regular supply of food to hungry neighbors, create new neighborhood connections and strengthen the community, and to serve as a model for other communities.
The Medford Food Project is an all-volunteer community organization dedicated to fighting hunger in our region. Each year, they collect food from local donors and distribute it to 12 different food pantries across Medford, Central Point, and Jacksonville. Since their founding in January 2011, they’ve collected a total of 2.3 million pounds of non-perishable food for those in need.
Funds will be used to support the Medford Food Project’s student program, the Student Hunger Strike Force (SHSF). The SHSF works with students in Jackson County to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities that fit easily into their schedules and service hour requirements, while providing a valuable resource to the Food Project. During the school year, students work with the Food Project to do ongoing food drives, and sign-up new food donors, and volunteer at collection events. The program teaches students important leadership and communication skills and empowers them to make a real difference in their communities, while also providing a meaningful credit for their college applications and resumes.
