Help Maslow Project meet the needs of homeless children and teens in the Rogue Valley.
Maslow Project's mission is to empower homeless youth and families to engage and thrive independently in all aspects of life by providing supports that stabilize, build resilience, and inspire hope. Maslow Project provides responsive low-barrier services throughout Southern Oregon to stabilize youth and families experiencing homelessness, so they can focus on life goals related to education, employment, social-emotional health & wellness, and permanent housing while fostering self-sufficiency in a collaborative and empowering environment. Maslow's holistic and person-centered approach utilizes a variety of trauma-informed, evidenced-based practices to address equity and access, move folks past homelessness, and help build their path to long-term life success.
Maslow Project's core work includes:
Outreach & Stabilization: Connects with families in their environments to provide essential supplies, food & nutrition, resource navigation, and advocacy. Mobile units serve rural areas.
Education: Supports students experiencing homelessness by ensuring school enrollment, providing basic needs, and advocating for their academic success.
Wellness: Offers crisis intervention, mental health support, healthcare access assistance, and opportunities for improved social-emotional wellbeing.
Housing: Provides comprehensive support for housing stability, including navigation, barrier removal, life skills, and pathways to home ownership.
Maslow Project's work is preventive in nature, and they work to get upstream of homelessness, connecting with youth and families to prevent further damage, so kids have food, clothing, shelter, and safety to attend school and do well. A high school diploma is the number one preventive measure toward future homelessness as an adult.
Funds will help support food distribution to hungry children and their families. Homeless youth experience food insecurity and hunger at twice the rate of their housed peers. Maslow Project's ability to provide food and nutrition comes almost entirely from donations and and community support.
