Positive Change

The Positive Change program raises money for local non-profit organizations working to better our community. We believe in the power of change and the power of community – Positive Change combines these two beliefs into one powerful program. The Positive Change program is one of the many ways the Co-op fulfills the seventh cooperative principle: Concern for Community.

Next time you check out, say “I’d like to round-up for Positive Change,” and we’ll round-up the total of your purchase to the nearest dollar, or you can donate any desired amount. Each month, the selected non-profit organization receives 100% of the donated funds, plus an additional mini grant from the Co-op (currently $400 each month). In celebration of National Co-op Month, MFC reserves the month of October each year to fundraise for a program, fund, or organization to be determined at the discretion of MFC's Outreach Committee. Annually, the Board of Directors selects one Positive Change recipient to receive an additional grant from our Cooperative Community Fund. Thank you for contributing to positive change and making a difference in our community!

Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market

Round up this March to support educational demonstrations at the Growers Markets!

The mission of Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market is:

  1. To provide its members with facilities, sites and services that will enable them collectively to promote and market their agricultural and craft products directly to the public.

  2. To educate the public about agricultural commodities and offer consumers a special market wherein they may obtain quality fresh produce and unique handcrafts directly from the producer.

  3. To provide members a forum for gathering and disseminating information that will educate and assist them in developing agricultural and marketing expertise.

  4. To encourage young people to become farmers and crafters and to develop their interest in both modern and ancient farm or craft techniques.

  5. To support public activities intended for the general betterment within Jackson County, Oregon and Surrounding counties.

The Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market staff and board of directors are dedicated to educating the public about agricultural products and providing the community a special market for fresh produce and unique crafts. Through community education efforts they hope to continue to encourage and support young people to become farmers and crafters and to develop interests in both modern and ancient techniques.

3% Cover the Fee

Each month, the selected non-profit organization receives 100% of the donated Positive Change funds, plus an additional grant from the Co-op.

Funds will be used to fund free community education programs and demonstrations hosted at the Farmers Market. These will include cooking demonstrations, garden layout design Q+A with growers, fermentation workshops, and/or hosting a kids day. Educational demos and outreach are reliant on grant funds and sponsorship. More funding opportunities provide the capacity to offer more hands-on and in-depth educational opportunities at the markets.

Help the Growers Market provide educational demonstrations for the community at the Thursday Medford Markets!

Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market strengthens community connections and provides access to fresh local food. RVGCM connects farmers and makers with consumers, educates the community about how their food is produced, and raises awareness about sustainable growing practices. Meet your neighboring farmers, ranchers, specialty food producers and handcraft artisans, and enjoy products sourced from Jackson, Josephine, and Siskiyou Counties. Markets are bursting with fresh produce, handcrafted products, artisan food, and community vibes. Experience the best local flavors at RVGCM – all while cultivating community!

Funds will be used to bring back educational demonstrations. Positive Change funds will help with staffing, supplies, and outreach in implementing demonstrations to help teach community members skills like how to plant a garden, planter box gardening, wool spinning, fruit tree pruning, and more.
